This role will support the Financial Management and Comptroller Office at a client site in Maryland. This position has varying tasks, responsibilities, and support that is provided to the Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) team. As a federal financial specialist, the individual will be responsible for implementing and updating Standard Operating Procedures and performing the Triannual review which takes place 3 times a year. This task directly touches and impacts the Beginning balance of the financial statements. The tasks associated with performing the triannual review involves deobligating and pulling back prior year funds and making adjustments and validating dollar figures using STARS and FASTDATA application systems. The specialist will also support the SABRS transition by performing unit user acceptance manager (UUAM) duties. In this capacity, the individual will assist the team in collecting and validating System Access requests (SAAR) forms and submitting to security. All training and system access must be maintained in a tracking tool. The individual will support testing of samples by pulling key supporting documentation (KSD) from STARS and scanning that information so that it can be included in the final submission.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in relevant business or technical field. An additional 4 years of experience can be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.
Minimum Experience: 5 years of progressive experience in participating in business or financial management services and related projects, including managerial experience.
Functional Responsibility: Provides guidance and direction for specific sub-tasks of a project, assuming responsibility for coordination of subordinate activities. Supports the completion of project specific tasks within estimated time frames and budget constraints. Monitors project performance and staff relationships. Reviews all documentation prepared by more junior personnel and is responsible for initial drafting of final project reports prior to submission for approval. Conducts performance reviews of other less experienced staff. Corrects errors identified during acceptance process. Interfaces with the client on a day-to-day basis. Supports presentations and client meetings.
